Resumo: We present a beam model proposed by Balakrishnan and Taylor [1]. This model describes the vibrations of some exible structures used in spacecrafts and presents a natural dissipation whose coecient is the energy functional itself. In this talk, we will discuss the recent mathematical advances regarding the dynamics of this energy damping model and some related models.
