Abstract: Let D be a residually finite Dedekind Domain, a in D and J a nonzero ideal of D. In this talk, we discuss the dynamics of the map x |---> ax (mod J) over the quotient ring D/J. We further present an application of our main result to certain linear maps over finite fields.
