Students enrolled in foreign institutions can attend courses at USP provided undergraduate exchange student for a period of one to two semesters (since that has the permission of the Foreign Institution period may be extended), obtaining or conducting research credits are valid for the curriculum of their home university. All activities of the USP are in Portuguese.
The documentation required for registration of candidates is the exchange:
1. A letter indicating the student, prepared by the home university;
2. A student's letter of appointment, made by a professor at the institution;
3. Registration Form for international students (click here );
4. Historic school graduation recognized by the university of origin accompanied by a simple translation to the Portuguese;
5. Syllabus with a list of courses that the applicant intends to study at USP (to build your study plan, click here );
6. Copy of passport data sheet, which sets forth the validity of the document;
7. Photography for scanned document in extent. "Jpg", maximum size of 50Kb (e-mail to: crint@icmc.usp.br).

Obtaining the Student Visa:
If the foreign student is accepted to perform an exchange period at the Universidade de São Paulo, CRint-ICMC will send a letter of acceptance, which the student is required to obtain your Student Visa (Temporary IV) adjacent to the Brazilian diplomatic in their country of origin (for more information, click here)
To accomplish their enrollment the student will be required to present the Student Visa and a copy of the Health Insurance / Life Insurance International.
The student may not be registered on a tourist visa!
Portuguese Course for Foreigners:
The Departamento de Letras, the Centro de Educação e Ciências Humanas, Universidade de São Carlos offers a course in Portuguese for Foreigners. For information, see the website http://www.letras.ufscar.br/
Scholarships and costs:
Accommodation
The campus has two accommodation blocks, totaling 192 seats. The selection of stakeholders is made by a committee, taking into account the socioeconomic status of the graduate student.
Housing Grant
Fill the vacancies of the accommodation, the student may benefit from financial aid to cover part of housing costs in the city.
